Behavioral Health Nurse Bronx New

We are seeking an experienced Psych Nurse to work in a supportive housing setting for individuals who have substance abuse and behavioral health issues. This supportive housing program is an opportunity to support individuals as they work to better their lives. As the onsite nurse you will ensure the residents are keeping up with their care plans and work with the staff to support their path to wellness.

Location: Bronx, NY (Onsite)

Schedule: 10am-6pm Monday-Friday

Compensation

Pay Range: $50.00-$55.00 Per HR

Description

• The Registered Nurse role involves working with a mental health team to assist clients transitioning from hospitals to community settings.
• The position is based in Bronx, NY, and requires onsite presence.
• This is a contract to hire position with weekday shifts.
• The role involves medical case management, health teaching, and crisis intervention, utilizing general office software.
  
  

Requirements

• Complete medical assessments and Communicable Disease Risk Assessments within mandated time frames.
• Coordinate medication delivery and reception with pharmacy.
• Track and manage medications, including returns to pharmacy.
• Observe self-administration of medications for detoxification.
• Refer clients for required medical services.
• Conduct urine screenings in accordance with program policy.
• Provide health education and consultation to clients.
  
  

Qualifications

• NYS RN license required.
• Knowledge of chemical dependency as a primary diagnosis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in assessment and case management.
• Proficiency with general office software.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention with maturity and responsibility.
